- 2005 Real ID law was passed by Republicans who snuck it in a defense spending bill essentially giving the green light to states to discriminate against immigrants and especially undocumented immigrants by requiring proof of legal status to get a driver's license or ID. My live was very negatively and directly impacted by this and has been ever since.
- 2012 DACA was ordered by Obama (Democrat in case you didn't know0 After attempts at passing immigration reform by Democrats were rejected by Republicans. This didn't help me personally because I was was 36 at the time and apparently waaay too old to get legal relief. I bet it helped you and most people on here though.
- 2014 Expanded DACA and DAPA were signed by Obama (again, a Democrat in case you forgot) which would have helped me. I had all my paperwork ready to go and the very day before it was to go into effect, Greg Abbott (The Republican Governor of Texas) sued Obama through a judge known for anti-immigrant rulings and an injunction was put on it which eventually ended it because.......Trump (Republican) became president and didn't pursue it.
- 2016-2020 under Trump (Republican in case you forgot), he ordered USCIS and ICE to arrest any undocumented they could catch whether they had a criminal record or not- traffic courts, schools, job sites, etc. were all fair game. Even people coming in to adjust their status were fair game. Then one summer he ordered ICE to have a major show of force and go after anybody who may have had a deportation order, overstay, or infraction. I'll never forget that day because I stayed home all day and I know other immigrants who got out of town just in case. Creating terror in immigrant communities was the point. Cruelty was the point.
- Present time: Who is it trying to get rid of DACA? Oh yeah, Republicans.
But yeah "they're all the same".

Not the same at all; I agree. They both have failed to solve the issue: one with cruelty, the other with wasting political capital and opportunity in exchange of relatively little (DACA) to keep the status quo - to exploit undocumented labor.
