I am of the belief that things have to get much worse before real positive action is taken and it pierces the propaganda veil over their eyes. It has to affect them personally before it clicks. Sometimes has to affect them personally multiple times. They don't learn with words, thats just fake Democrat-controlled fake news. Thats how much they've been stuffed with propaganda over the decades. They think we're all on welfare, and Trump has gone as far as to ban the undocumented from it again. All the last times didn't work apparently, despite it being already law, and despite it being an easily verifiable fact.
They think we're not paying taxes, despite taxes being easy to do with ITIN. The government may not care as much about immigration, but once you mess with the taxes they care deeply. They have a super computer to verify tax returns and it assigns a risk score. If you submit a dodgy return it'll be flagged. Whether it will be investigated is a function of return on investment and available staff.
Oh well, I won't continue to debunk. Its preaching to the choir.
If it weren't good propaganda then you wouldn't fall for it. In other words, good propaganda isn't noticeable. Several doses of reality will cure them. Stuff like how that energy credit was cancelled and the power bill went up $100, or how critical medicines went from $60 to $600. I think once they start with the mass deportations and food shoots up in price like crazy that's when it'll click. But muh RohBahts! TechNahLoGee! Any robot capable of doing farmwork at a competitive price is capable of eating the entire manufacturing labor market, and pretty much most low-wage labor markets. Could totally envision a robot to stock shelves. The US is a service industry and financials economy for the most part. Thats the thing nobody gets when they show off these fancy humanoid robots. They aren't meant to be your housemaid, they are meant to take away jobs that are labor intensive but the labor available is too expensive. Thats what they want to do to a similar extent with these chatGPT robots, consume the intellectual work as well.
Technology isn't the saving force you think it is. Its full of trade-offs and still can't be made without critical and environmentally-damaging components. Unless our species stumbles upon of a miracle energy source within the next 50 years this will be peak human existence for a long time. Its not space-faring society, it'll be agrarian society next.
Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ gg.
