Unbelievable.

0% strategic thinking.

Meanwhile, saved for a few bright spots, Latin America remains the same shitland riddled with corruption , crime , and narcos.

With the way things are going, I am going to live to see Latinos immigrating to China to clean Chinese toilets and mow their lawns. Maybe even Americans too.
Personally, I refuse to learn the tonal mandarin language. I simply can't with the tones. The craziest part of all this is that China has the largest shipbuilding capability ever seen. They are rapidly building up military and navy capability. Not that long ago they barely had any carriers now they have one shitty one from Russia the Varyag with its goofy ski jump ramp and its dependency on diesel fuel it belches thick black smoke wherever it goes.

Then they built the Type 002, and Improvement on all aspects over the awful Varyag while they used the Varyag to build up institutional knowledge on carrier sea operations.

Then they built the Type 003, a complete and new design smaller than the American version but nuclear powered and with an electromagnetic catapult. And now they are building a second Type 003 and possibly even a Type 004 with a railgun. They are working on shipborne railgun technology.

In china they play the long game and have advanced planning capability with their 5-year plans where they set overall goals for their nation and then break down the plan and distribute it across different agencies. Its completely different than the western model of lets just switch everything every 4 years and we will try to get done what gets done if we have the votes and if we have the money. To even be part of the Chinese government you have to pass a civil service exam designed to weed out the stupid and only 2% manage to pass.

The biggest tragedy of outsourcing is that they used it to funnel wealth back into themselves than in producing products of a higher quality for lower price. American labor is very expensive what with the environmental and labor regulations that its cheaper to do manual work in countries with cheaper currency and lower wages.

The silver lining is that some manufacturing might return to the US, but the downside is that it might not be in enough proportion to offset the losses or even available at all. The holy grail of manufacturing is those fancy human-like robots to do the manufacturing that humans do. Imagine a completely automated factory with barely any humans inside. Maybe a few repair techs or lol, the broken robots could be shipped overseas and fresh/repaired ones come ashore in cargo containers.
