yeah he did have to apply from his country BUT they ask for different stuff like he had to request things from the USA (since we always lived here) but other than that there was no trouble. He got in canada with a student visa and after 3 years you get your residency and in canada you cant drive on the highway for a year with your license ..the process there is alot longer but he loves it up there.
