Dream becomes Reality
I went through a third party background check for a job and I was contacted by my employer that the third party background check company needed me to verify my social security number. I ended up verifying it by phone with my employer who then relayed the number again to the background check folks. I was told that the reason why they were asking was because social security numbers issued during and after 2012 sometimes are difficult to verify/trace, so they had to check with me to make sure. They did see that I had a credit history but it raised enough of a flag to get their attention but they did not make a big deal about it at all. It was all just for confirmation/verification purposes. Hope this helps.
