Its more deep than that. Take the average american and in no way would they ever agree to the government-led bloodbath. The government does this, spurred on by politicians.

The country is fine, the government is not. The founding fathers did the best they could, but did not go far enough in chaining down the government. They simply did not foresee the scoundrel of today.
