I don't think he was "asking for our information," he already has that. He was asking "if any employees had altered DACA records out of concern for immigrants’ civil liberties", most likely as a way to delegitimize the program so that they can attack it more openly, but there is no way our records were "altered" so they found nothing they didn't already have.
