It wasn't exactly like that but you get my point. I thought I remember reading that we have to anyway go to one and take fingerprints... So my question is, should I expect to travel to my nearby bio office? Or should I just chill and I'll get my EAD through the mail like so?

I wonder because I also didn't write the complete 495 fee from before but apparently, they let it slide... I'm confused
Them missing the bio-fee would be a mistake on their end and probably not one they're likely to bother correcting past the lockbox stage.

Waiving biometrics is pretty normal these days due to COVID. They fingerprint who they have to, and waive the biometrics for everyone they have old ones on file for. Previously old biometrics remained valid for 18 months.
