Any thoughts on the potential Public charge as it relates to Immigration?

Background: If an immigrant uses public charge (medicare, food stamps etc.), it can prevent them from applying for Citizenship or as a Citizen bar you from sponsoring.

My thoughts: I agree with this policy. As an immigrant, you should not be a burden to the government or its tax payers. You also should not be able to sponsor. As a sponsor, you are financially responsible for the person you sponsor. If you are burden to the tax payers, so will the person you sponsor.
