The smoking gun would be if Ken Paxton had deliberately "forced" Trump's hand last September (this was all an elaborate ruse in order to shift the blame). The ACLU was looking into whether Trump's DOJ had collaborated with Paxton, but there hasn't been any developments as of yet on this.

In Trump's leaked phone conversation with the president of Mexico he verbatim said the wall wasn't important to him, he simply used the idea of a border wall to pander to his idiot base. This would explain why he initially rejected every deal on the table that offered the wall in exchange for DACA.

IMO he just wants us all deported.
