i have a credit card through Bank of America. in my county, they will issue secured credit cards to individuals who have DACA. thereafter, they will issue a regular credit card and refund you the deposit. i believe it takes about 6 months to a year.

through them, i got a credit card with a small credit limit, even though i did not have a SSN on file. they have been my banking institution for several years, and they said they issued it to me because i have had a long relationship with them.

if you go the secured credit card route, check with them after six months to see if they can give you a normal credit card. if they do, keep that credit card open for as long as possible to boost your credit history. i advise against multiple credit cards, especially when you have young credit. truly, 1 credit card with yearly credit line increases should suffice for a few years.

i got my credit line increased by 200% within a year of making small purchases and timely payments.
