you don't have to go that far, here in New Mexico if you live here, you can get a DL. All you have to do is have proof that you are a resident of New Mexico. You need 2 or 3 bills to proof that you are a resident, after that you get an ID number or PIN number from the IRS for identification and I believe that's it....
