Last week he got it and it is a regular DL not the AB60 that is given to people who are undocumented.

He has always had a DL because he has always had a SS#. When I expired in April 2015 I had to get a new DL and had to show my EAD to prove legal status. Joking around I told the lady processing my application that if she wanted to she could add extra time this time around. When I got my DL it had an expiration date of Jan 2018. I guess distracting the dmv workers work.
He was probably grandfathered. That's why he was not required to show any proof of status. Trust me... They were not distracted. Lol. I'm from another state but the same thing happened to me. I was grandfathered and I have my license for 8 years.
