Also agree, the $5,500 may seem steep and unattainable right now, but it is an investment in your future that will pay great dividends for you. As such, you should get the money for it asap. A loan is a good idea because the interest you will end up paying on the loan will eventually be pennies on the dollar compared to the huge quality of life increase you will see by being able to legally live and work in the US.
