Nope. By Statue you are not entitled a ID/DL beyond what is limited by your Legal Presence Document, EAD, so DMV is only obligated to give you a DL/ID valid up to the date on that document.

Don't worry too much, I know people who have been renewing their DL's without issue from having previously had an EAD and having a valid SSN issued to them.

60 days before your ID/DL expires send the renew by mail application and be done with it.
