What came up once you had it done?

I did a board search and found a thread on background checks, but I'm not sure if a typical background check is equivalent to FBI clearance.

I got an immigration clearance letter/criminal history background check/arrest record/wtfever it's called for my Canadian student visa application without any problems.

The clearance letter only checked for my (non-existent) arrest record with the local PD. It's the FBI clearance application that's giving me a headache since I don't know if it's going to dig up my immigration status or not.
