That was my thought process in terms of my particular case since I expire in Feb 2019.
I may stand to lose a few months but at the very least it secures protection til sometime in 2020 whether something else happens or not, I feel its worth it.

At the same time I am sorry that I am adding to the pile for those who expire much sooner. I'm just not sure how long they will be accepting renewals for this go around. Given the way these past few months have been this is something that is certain in terms of actually giving protection.
I'm not planning on walking in to my Biometrics in hopes of my application taking longer thus giving me a later 2020 approval if it is accepted. (Still currently waiting on it to be delivered)
