I was talking about this with my friend who is a doctor and working on a sub-specialty. We got in the friends zone because she rejected me after finding out about my dreamer status (so apparently you need a green card to date someone who is in med school too hah) but that's a different story.

ANYYYYHOOO, aside from the insane amount of money involved to go to med school, how much competition there is to getting accepted where every little blemish can destroy your chances of getting in, when you start your residency after med school, you are basically an employee of the hospital...granted you make a measly $35,000 a year but good luck doing that without a green card.

So technically, it's not IMPOSSIBLE, if you have a very rich uncle and are a genius, but the smart money would be to take a major that can stand up on its own and doesn't have a vocational requirement.
