Man I'm in the same boat as you, I'm in college with zero job experience and I couldn't do any research this summer.
I'm getting two degrees next year, one is in Chem so I'm hoping that a pharmacy will be willing to give me hands on training so I can be a pharm tech. It's a pretty decent pay, $25k initially (which is much higher than the $0 I am currently racking in).
Dental assisting is the same thing, hands-on training is enough to qualify for a job and sometimes your boss is willing to teach you. I met a nice lady who was in real estate and changed careers this way because the dentist was opening his new practice that year
I just need enough to get by for about three years. By then I can hopefully apply for dental school
