Today I was just shocked to know that my mom, a widow of a United States citizen, has been given a two-year reprieve by Janet Napolitano- this is given to all widows and widowers (the widow penalty it is so called). The thing I am upset is I am not qualified because I am over 18 years old. I felt like it should have been 21 years, I am 19.
Anyway, the last straw is still the DREAM Act.
I'm not sure you would want to qualify for that 'reprieve'.It is only a temporary administrative benefit,who knows what happens when the 'reprieve' is over since such benefits usually come with Notice to appears[removal proceedings].Achieving Permanent residency in this country should still be a priority.
