Hi everyone, I got my EAD 2 months ago and I've been apply for jobs in companies like BOA, Bloomberg, and some other financial/tech company. And had some interviews already.
I have a B.S. degree in computer science.
When I filed out application, what should be the answer if they asked you "do you need future sponsorship?"
I know they will not be able to provide us sponsorship at all but since many of the EAD when expired require sponsorship, else the employee will have no valid EAD and need to leave the country(I think), I am not sure how to response to this question.

When I was asked about my working status.
I usually said:

"unrestricted EAD acquired independently, valid until XX-2014, and it will very likely to be extend by that time, without any sponsorship from the company at all."

I am not sure if the company will find out my actual status and this always become a obstacle for me to land any jobs comfortably in any big company here.

Well, in a job application, I personally wouldn't but "yes" to answer that question because you don't "need" it, as in, most likely, DACA will be renewed at the very least so you don't need to worry about that for at least 2 more years.

However, if you ever feel like you have a chance to get legal status through a company, you'd be smart to discuss the option with them. However, in today's job market, such possibility is very rare.

So basically, just answer "no" to the question. It will just make things a whole lot easier. Remember that showing the intention of a long stay in a company is one of upmost importance. It will make or break decisions in your favor.

Answer no. If they want to sponsor you they will offer it to you.

I doubt that companies can sponsor a person who does not have a legal status and is living in the United States.

I think it wouldn't be lying if you said 'no' as we don't really know how long the DACA process will be around.Think of it mainly as a time to build a network and gaining experience in your professional field and should at later date they really want to keep you as Piano mentioned they have to offer and apply on your behalf anyway.

Think of it as a working visa, if it makes you feel any better. Besides, relax. Don't worry too much, I say just apply and the way you've written it out for them is completely sound and reasonable.

Sure we can work.

But the problem is how long we can work, big company tends to hire long term employee (Even though some of them had high turn over rate), once they found out that your EAD are in the DACA type, they might start thinking about the risk of hiring you, I am afraid of this particular situation since I am expecting some positive responses on next week from multiple on-site interviews that I had this week.

I thought once I get my EAD I will be applying jobs just like other US college graduates, but this is very not true.
Not to mention that in lots of small companies the recruiter will very much want to try to ask you about your visa status and how you get your EAD. I had encountered this many time after I got my EAD and usually what happen is that I refused to tell them, and the interview went down awkwardly. I think even I got the job they will still trying to find my status and who knows what happen after they did.

Its a risk thing for them. Basically a liability lol. You wouldn't hire someone to build you a fence who only has a 2 day work permit over someone doesn't while they both have the qualifications.
