Ok... I got it! 8yrs license! This guy that lives there helps people out and he helped me out and 2 other friends of mine. Everything is legit.

QUESTION tho... is it safe to go by plane from florida to new mexico?? I went by car with them, but now my sister wants to go ... but he cant come and drive her there 30hour drive.. hes staying there because laws are changing and by Jan 2010 New mexico wont be giving license (so easy, without social security) and pretty soon washington is next.

So shes trying to go there asap to get hers done.. but her florida license is expired for 2 yrs... and all shes got is a tax id number and a passport without a visa... idk if thats very safe.

I'm sorry but I can't answer your question. Just wanted to say congrats on getting the license

edit: Are you sure they will stop giving them after January? I had understood that people with NM licenses would need passports to fly because NM wasn't going to comply with the Real ID Act

Did He do it just for the good deed? Or how many "thank yous" did you have to give back for the favor? Some years ago, I had a contact who asked for about 3,000 "thank yous" for a real CA license. Just too much for some of us.

But hey, congratulation on your license.

It was cheap and he came out losing.. zero profits for him.. He does it because he wants to help. Very legit and nice person. He went an extra mile for everyone.

I don't think it's safe for people without valid ids to take planes...i've come across more and more articles that say that airport security asks for a visa if you bring your passport (if it's the only valid id you possess) and if you don't have one, you'll be deported...

Right. It says people from NM will need passports because NM is giving us licenses, and not being REAL ID compliant

"The state also has applied for an extension to meet compliance by no later than May, 11, 2011. It also should be noted that 36 other states are in the same boat as New Mexico."

I was just saying that's something to keep in mind. You don't want to risk it if there's a chance they'll keep giving licenses for a while longer.

I wan to go there two and get a place for 2 months. I'd be willing to rent out a room to anyone if needed. However, I need to know if NM is still giving out licenses. I checked their website and it seems as tho they are no longer doing it. I have an old contact that says he can get me one for 1000 thank yous.
