I think the fact that there are several new posters on here, whose sole intent seems to be to kick you guys when you have just been kicked - shows the entire face of the political system today. School yard bullies win. Sadly.

And to "frankly'_ the fact you can not figure out the similarities in the black struggle for civil rights and what these guys are going through is simply astounding. You, yourself, laid out the similarities and then promptly stated " it isn't the same" - mind blowing.

The immigration topic has already been made clear by the republicans and tea partiers that is enforce the law get rid of sanctuary cities and deport. This plays well in a lot of states.

I still think this is one of the best situations in history to use Executive Order as I have repeatedly stated. In most cases EO goes against the will of the congress. In this case it enforces the will of the congress. Remember the house past DA and so did the majority in the Senate which is what the constitution asks for. Obama would only be enforcing what the congress wants. But we and the Senators and all the various organizations need to pressure Obama into this very logical course of action.

People need to educate themselves about the executive order process. Executive orders won't grant LPR but could alter regulations to help people get legalized through current law e.g. work authorization, marriage (for people who are EWI), or family re-unification purposes.

Also, TIKVA is right. Just because 41 Senators filibustered the bill doesn't mean there's a tide of anti-immigrant sentiment out there. In real world math, getting a majority of 216 Representatives and 55 out of 100 Senators should be enough. We've also gotten polls that show 54% overall support with 66% of Democrats, 34% of Republicans, and 60% of independents supporting the Dream Act. Don't be spooked by this defeat just because a minority could block legislation so easily in the Senate.

He would be impeached for doing that for non citizens in the middle of 9.8% unemployment and the country having 13 trillion in debt. Those would be impeachable offenses with a Republican House who bring that trial up . Plus he is out to get re=elected so he would lose bigger than he is going to already lose if he did this. It is not an option politicians care about power nothing else.

By reading your comments i can see that alot of you have lost hope and the will to keep fighting. "We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope." Martin Luther King Jr.
