Road trip to DC (June 28, 2011)

Hi guys,

I really want to make it out to DC to support our fellow Dreamers during Durbin's Senate Hearing next Tuesday. However, I'm stuck in Oklahoma. I'd fly, but last minute fares are over $800. Also, the ID issue scares me. Is anyone driving there from the west... and perhaps can pick me up along the way? I'll obviously help pay for gas and whatever other expenses need to be paid. I'm terrific at being quiet when necessary and coming up with road trip games! Also, I'm a wonderful snack packer.

My only issue is that I can't drive- literally, I'm a grown ass 25 year old woman who has no idea how to drive. I couldn't tell apart the blinker thingy from the windshield wiper button to save my life.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I would also love to go and take my degrees and all awards to show them to sessions. And show him I have much better grades than he does. But my drive would be sooooo long. Im in california.

I'm guessing this is out of the question for us California dreamers.. But good luck to our eastern friends..

You might be able to find someone heading that way on Craigslist, give it a try. Id go myself if I was allowed any days off :/

Darn, it was worth a shot. Obviously a silly thought, but wish Durbin would've given us a heads up slightly earlier. If it weren't so expensive, I would've risked flying out (also with my various diplomas) for this important issue.

You have obviously never met craigslist people.. They are the greatest in the world.. Just yesterday I got a free couch and sold all my puppies in 5mins...

lol. Honestly that's exactly what ran through my head too. But I figure that if anyone is taking a road trip to DC for the Durbin event, it would be people like us...and we're mostly harmless.

However, I have roomed with someone off of Craigslist when I traveled to DC for the Rally to Restore Sanity back in October. The guy turned out to be a total stoner, but he was otherwise nice!

Are you guys hitting the club afterwards?

anyway, just be careful if you use craigslist we all heard about the killer and i have meet some funny people there... but i still use it to buy and sell stuff....
