Several of us have family members that cannot re-enter US. It would be unfortunate if this bill does not allow international travel.
With a GC, you get travel and possibly the Visa. Why are you worried about that now though?

the fact that there are people in here so delusional that actually complain about it not giving citizenship, when they should know if the bill dies, any chance of getting any legal status will likely be dead for quite some time. It isn't a visitors visa, it allows a path to legalization which should be enough and it is a fair compromise.

I do not like the idea that there is no direct path to a green card through this program. I'm not against the bill, and ability to work and drive will be a thousand times better than our current situation. And I understand it doesn't block you from getting a green card and evidential citizenship (key thing is *you* have to find this path through marriage, job, etc), but that also means it could be years and years before you have a more stable status. Along these lines is the possibility of not being able to travel internationally while on this 'visa'.

I think its too early to say anything right now. I'm waiting for the full details of the bill. I'm not opposed to us getting a non immigrant visa though as long as we can work and study. I really dont care about voting in the future. Like the Simpsons said, "with voter turn outs at an all time low, not voting makes me even more American"

Difference between Dream and this.. "bill"

Dems: uses Dream for bait

GOP: talks about a bait

But say it does become a bill, what I like about is is what was in the Dream Act, a chance to live a more normal life.

The cons of this "bill" would be.. its not real and it may not be real

We should wait for an actual bill to come out before we begin to speculate. However, just like Dems and Reps should keep and open mind, we should as well. We must refrain from having this sense of entitlement. We absolutely deserve the opportunity to EARN our status. Be it through a visa to GC to USC or through CG to USC. Both paths take years. Yes one is shorter than the other, but they are not saying you cant be a USC all they are saying is we are not going to make it easy.

My opinion: I say make it as hard as you want. I want to become a USC and no amount of wall and obstacles that the GOP put in from of me with this bill will deter me from achieving my goal,

I don't know the details but I hope it doesn't have an age limit like the original DA did. Age limits make no sense because the DA has been around for over 10 years now and guess what? Those kids grow up.

I was 10 when I came here and now I'm in my upper 30's. All of a sudden I get no sympathy because I'm not as "innocent" as the girl in Florida. I've suffered more than most people on here for much longer. Many people on here are just now realizing the nightmare they're living in but I've been living it.

So yeah, no age limit.

Whether it is direct or indirect, there is a path to GC and then USC.

Who says the path is through marriage and/or job on this bill?

Original bill had limit of 35 in Senate, and no limit in House plus Retroactive benefits for both!

Only the rushed 2010 lame duck brought it down to 30 with no Retro.

If you are in your upper 30s then you do have a 4 year degree right? If you do, Retroactive will qualify you.

What is fair now is age limit to 30 with Retroactive.
