You're right. In fact the DREAM Act originated from a Republican's mind, Senator Orrin Hatch from Utah. But if you compare the number of Republicans and number of Democrats that support/would vote in favor of us well there's a huge difference. Come on even Mcain was all for it until he didn't win presidency. Please don't use Rubio as an excuse that man's idea of supporting is a complete joke.

There were several Republicans that supported the DA. Even Bush tried to pass CIR. So no they're not all "bad" but the majority just doesn't want to cooperate. Closing the border is a lame excuse. I think they just don't want it to pass with a Democrat majority or as a democrat "idea". They want to take the price. To me it doesn't matter who the hell votes in my favor as long as it's a fair deal for all of us. During the debate last night Obama said something that I totally agree on. He mentioned Pres. Lincoln and how he had such a hard time getting Republicans and Democrats to work together and how divided the country was at that time. That's how I see it now this country is divided and no one wants to cooperate because they want to be the ones that are right.

or 5 republican votes.....wait I forgot, NONE of them voted in favor.

It doesn't matter if you are vocal of your support as a Republican, either put up or shut the fuck up

It was a Democratic initiative brought to the floor by a leader who couldn't shore up his own base. Are you kidding me?

I'm not blindly in support of Republicans -- or Democrats for that matter.. Like I've stated before, I have strong liberal social ideals, and I am in support of Obama this year. Doesn't mean I can't criticize him.

^you're right there were 3 votes. Point is, I don't expect any one to blindly follow one way or the other, but this political climate can't be any clearer as to how Republicans will vote on the issue.

I'm a libertarian/ a moderate. I will never become a bastard who votes for a candidate just because he's a Democrat or Republican. That's just fking stupid. Unfortunately that is mostly what's happening today, especially when you have an uneducated public who is easily swayed by the media.

That being said, let me point out that even a 5 year old can see that MOST (96-98% ?) of the Republicans are against the DA. While I do agree on securing the border, they ALSO need to provide relief for us alongside with it! Dream Act + Border security = more votes on passage. Why? Because most of the basta....I mean, congressman, who voted against cited that they wanted to secure the border first before dealing with us.

strawman argument from the Reps. Obama's deported more people than ever and I'm pretty sure I've read he put more boots on the ground than there have been in a long time.

Point is, a lot of the republican opposition stems from not wanting to give Obama any wins, no matter what it is. I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, but it almost seems like they don't like him for some reason beyond his control (hint skin color).

Mitch McConnell has said before that the GOP's main priority is making Obama a 1 term president. Also, half of these incumbent GOP Senators and Representatives are RINOs. The other half are terrified of losing to that ever growing bunch, so they never break rank with them.

lmfao My fucking hero. Cheers. I'll be voting for Obama lol

A better word would have been, "supported/supporting." I am sure that's what the postee meant . . . I think. For the sake of sanity, I hope.
