All of this waiting is getting frustrating... I got interviews lined up for the next 2 weeks and I am still waiting for the approval. With the 4 degrees I have I want to use it... dang it...

Nooooo. I hope its not a month. I already have a valid SSN just not authorized to work. Please please don't tell me it will take them a month to adjust the status of the SSN.

Well I tell you so. Notapro is almost at 3 weeks. I'm at 2 weeks. And we're still pending verification.

Yeah I know... You guys have been waiting and waiting... I hope the SSA and USCIS get their act together. It really shouldn't take that long.

Just think of all the people applying for jobs now and they get screwed because the departments take so f-ing long.

You can legally work with your EAD. Just inform your employer that you'll provide them with a SSN when you receive it. They don't need it immediately. You can even defer your payroll until you get your actual SSN.

That is true. But some employers want the SSN right away. I cguess I can give them my SSN but tell them it is going through an update.

Or I can just have my EAD and my old SS card with the "Not valid for work" stamped across it and say they are updating it in the system.

That should work right?
