I think you just need an approved Notice of Action (Form I-797 approved petition) by USCIS. You can also use it as proof of your permanent address since it is a First-class mail received from a federal government agency in the past six months

Don't think so, since it says 'or' not 'and'

Valid I-94 stamped "Refugee," "Parolee," "Asylee" or "Notice of Action" (Form I-797 approved petition) by INS or USCIS

Just went to the DMV today using I-797 Approved, Work Authorization Card, Social Security Card, and College Transcripts and ID.

Had all points, however, when they tried verifying the I-797 and Work Authorization they could not find anything in the "INS System" as I was told. They said it could take an hour to up to 30 days to verify it.

Any one else have this issue at the dmv?

hi guys, just want to share my experience with everyone from jersey. I just got back from the DMV across town (strangely that's where everyone my family used). I was told by a very stern lady there that the I-797 letter means nothing, so that's not 4 points... and not trying to patrionize anyone... but it's very important to keep your cool because the staffs tend to be very rude because they see hundreds of people everyday, it comes with the job description.

so the EAD w/ your SS card is 3 points, SS card is 1 point, and since your DACA was approved you must have finished HS at least, so dig up that student ID with transcript or college ID with transcript because that's 2 points. so there's your 3-2 -1.

I apparently asked too many questions regarding why the I-797 wasn't accepted when it's listed in the 4-point category.... I did bring my college ID with transcript so it really should have been EAD + SS card + college ID w/ transcript = 6 points but she counted the college ID w/ transcript as 1 only and said to me, "Do you work here or do I work here?". so here's my experience... once again, keep your cool! I didn't even notice she couldn't count pass 5 at the time.....

also guys, make a detour!! go open a bank account with your name and get a debit card, the debit card with your name is 1 point in the last category! (along with your ss card you maxed it out already).

I'll try again tomorrow at my own town, wish me luck!

PS. for those waiting for your social security card still, call those f'ers up! I waited over 30 days and found out the first lady didn't do anything except entering my info in because I called the 2nd time another lady pushed it through for me at last... ss is a free service and they close at 3 pm... you're only getting equal value of service so you really need to follow up closely yourself! try another office if your office isn't working for you.
