Hey guys, I will be flying to Chicago this upcoming Friday and was just wondering if I will have any issues using my EAD as an ID with TSA?

I tried giving them a call but they only have an automated system and they just regurgitated the information posted on their website. Online, they do not specify an EAD as an "Acceptable ID" but they do state that; "Non-US/Canadian citizens are not required to carry their passports if they have documents issued by the U.S. government such as Permanent Resident Cards. Those who do not should be carrying their passports while visiting the U.S." The Work Authorization Card is a document issued by the U.S. Government so I figured it would be enough, does anyone have any experience with this?

Along with my EAD I plan to take my Deferred Action receipts as well as my Work Authorization approval receipts and Social Security Card.

I do not currently have an ID/DL (cards) because the DMV has decided to take its sweetass time to process my application. I do however have the temporary driver license with name and personal information and will be taking that with me as well. Will this suffice?

P.S. I did do a quick online search and found mix results but nothing conclusive, so if anyone has any experience with this I would really appreciate it.

P.S.S. I also have my University Student ID Card and a Mexican matricula as a last resort, no Mexican Passport unfortunately.

You'll be fine; I traveled from one end of CA to the other, showed my EAD and they just checked to see that it's not expired, not fake, and that it's you in the picture. Definitely bring all your other paperwork (that has your name). Your EAD is like a green card, in a way, issued by the federal government, not the state.

Have a safe flight!

Hey thanks! I was pretty confident that the EAD would work just fine, I just needed to make sure, thanks for giving me peace of mind!
