Hello, I'm a Florida DACA student so there are few options for me here. The only viable one for me so far is FIU which gives the in-state waiver for DACA recipeints.

I was wondering how many of you have applied and gotten accepted there? Also, if you were accepted, were you also able to receive other aid from the school such as the Presidential Scholarship?

My other question is, what are some private universities in California that have a history of accepting undocumented students and giving them generous aid based on merit?

I am going through the same situation(KINDA). I don't really want to go to FIU because it is kind of far from my house and Miami just doesn't attract me. My 1st option is UF. I heard and read somewhere that there is a possible way for DACA students to get In state tuition. How? I am not sure. I intend to find out. Hopefully, I will know more info soon.

I'm from New Jersey and I pay in-state tuition for a 2 year local community school. I actually want to transfer out to a school/state that they are more lienant on immigration like California, but would they probably charge me out-of-state tuition? Another one of my choices in is New York, what if I provided them with an address in NY because one of my friends live there?

Its much more involved than just an address. You will need other proof like apartment lease, tax returns, bills (not cell phone), driver license dated a year ago, NY high school diploma, etc.

I considered NY but they wouldn't even take bank statements as proof. Some colleges might take bank records as proof but only as secondary with proof mentioned above AND only if you have 12 month's worth of proof.

I contacted UF about this clause. However, they stated that DACA students are not considered as part of this clause and you have to apply as an out-of-state resident. You also aren't eligible for any merit scholarships, so there is unfortunately no point in me applying there.
