Im so happy! I got my EAD in the mail today, i was approved on 9/3

Great news! Looks like 10 days or so is the average time from approval to EAD receipt.

Apparently the current ELIS system is a shell of what it's supposed to be. I read that they were slowly adding on the layers of programming that would allow for it to be what it is supposed to be and streamline the adjudication of applications. I'm not in IT but I can only imagine the flaws a system would experience as they slowly add on to it.

You are right except that they used us as guinea pigs knowing full well that DACA applicants are not eligible for temporary EAD's in case of adjudication delays as most other EAD holders are. I think that this fact alone makes what they did quite irresponsible and one might even say immoral.

Depends on the state. Some states all you need is the previous license.

Yep, they were trying to get ELIS right for sometime now. Only a couple of low volume apps like green card replacement were being processed (reason why ELIS says green card was produced and mailed). Some powerpoint "genius" probably thought DACA was a good test drive and set it off. Unfortunately, it didn't stand up very long for the peak season volume and came down quickly and we are left with the pieces.
Previous process was low-tech and not glued well together but it works and is stable. Case in point, biometrics appt was basically a nightly spreadsheet uploaded to a batch process. From what we heard from zeomax and others, looks like they abandoned this atleast partially for now, so hope they don't introduce it just in time for next renewal, if CIR doesn't pass thru.

I heard someone tried and got an "information mismatch" and weren't able to do it.

I just did it (as I expired last week) and guess what... I got "Notice of Possible Mismatch with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Records".

Further down on the same result page it says"Please note! This does not mean you are not authorized to work. It simply means that we need to take a closer look at the records to determine the problem. If we can, we’ll fix the problem."

It seems to me they're that e-verify knows I'm not authorized to work but they're just reluctant to say so, because they know how reliable their employees are at doing things right.
