Can the president pardon civil offenses? Doubtful.

Might as well test it. All this other crap he is doing is legally dubious at best.

I’m sure they could write a “memo” not to enforce the 3-10 yr ban for childhood arrivals just like the did with the DACA “memo” to defer deportations.

Probably, Carter pardoned Vietnam War draft dodgers, while it was a criminal issue at the time, the pardon also wiped away the inadmissibility associated with dodging the draft.

You guys really need to stop trying to be law advisers.

The President can't waive the 10 year ban on us. Only Congress can change the law.

You can't just turn around and say a law doesn't exist anymore just cause willy nilly.

Trump will win reelection and there will be conservative immigration reform.

Open border Dems will oppose it and Republicans will probably pass it with conservative/moderate Dem help.

Me: -gives a specific example where the president ended up pardoning an inadmissibility-
You: -incoherent screeching-

Guess what buddy, INA 212(a)(8)(B) still exists roughly in the same form as it did back after the Vietnam War and if you fled the country to avoid the draft Carter's Pardon will make you admissible in spite of that.

I wonder if he'd prefer a pink triangle or a star of David in the concentration camp we'd all end up in.
