So I am about the apply for Advanced Parole with my DACA for the first time and one of the questions is asking how many days I am requesting to be out... what's the maximum?

My grandma is dying from Alzheimer's and I am also about to lose my job this summer (a victim of the recent government budget cuts) so I actually won't mind staying in my home country as long as possible after I became unemployed. Not only do I get to be with my family and take care of my grandma, I also get to save on rent and the expensive cost of living in the US. My dollar will stretch farther there, but I still would like to come back eventually for my family in the US.

To folks who have applied before, what did you request vs how much did USCIS end up awarding you in the end? Will it affect my application if I ask for 2 months or more? What amount does USCIS award typically?

That really does not matter. You can put 6 months but that does not means you will get six months. The officer who will work on your file will decide. I have seen people requested more days but USCIS approved way less than they requested. On the other hand i also seen where USCIS approved way more than it was requested.

I requested for AP on the form from June 22nd until August 18th of last year. I was approved from June 18th until August 22nd. You can get extra days from the approving officer, but it is discretionary, and you only get the days that you ask for. Don't be afraid to ask for more time.
