Starting my senior year of high school truly frightened me even though I appeared excited. That excitement has faded over the course of these months as I struggled to apply to as many universities as I could to keep my options open. I think this has been by far the toughest year, psychologically. I'm fine though. I have been accepted everywhere I applied, even my Dream schools UCLA and UCB...but how to choose? I have no clue how to choose where to go..can I just go to all of them? lol..

I know I have no chance at visiting the campuses. The mail I've recieved doesn't help at all, so how did you guys decide?

Try to visit them if you can. That's what I recommend because the fact is pictures and pamphlets won't tell you what school is like. Other things to weigh in the the cost, distance from home, and how good the program that you want to go into is. If you really can't visit maybe there is a way you can speak on the phone or through e-mail to current students? good luck!

I would search for students attending the schools via Facebook to ask how the campus is like.

I would definitely try to visit, many people I know who got into their dream schools ended up transferring or changing their minds because living and working at a school is a completely different experience than what is shown in pamphlets or tours. And it's also a good idea to weigh the different programs offered, teacher to student ratios and relationships and any and all things you might think of. Don't be afraid to find out about the student nightlife, how long school stores are open until, how much emphasis the school puts into sports and how that affects you, etc. I know it can be hard to travel sometimes but it's definitely worth the investment even if you can only visit your top few. Good luck!

I have less than a month. Then I have to take into consideration that I am going to try to get my admission deferred for a year. Ahhh..

The only one I have visited that I spent quality time in was UC Berkeley, and I loved it. I'm going to ask around though!

Thanks guys!

ive been to both UCB and UCLA.. and i would personally choose Berkeley over UCLA, the campus is nice and all.. but the ppl over at UCLA are a little rude and bitchy.. NOW i know this is not TRUE for everyone.. but the ppl i encountered didnt look at all aproachable or even happy to be there.. as oppose to the ppl at Berkeley.. maybe its just the environment..another thing.. if you're not rich.. theres not much to do in UCLA.. the only things near or around it are Bel Air (across the street).. Beverly Hills, Rodeo Dr. etc. quite expensive places..

..But i would advice you to visit the campus first before you make up your mind.. who knows maybe you like that kind of thing?

i'd pick ucla over berkley, any day, but thats just me; i know its nothin but rich ppl @ ucla, but i have friends that go to berkley, and they said the campus is ok, but the city itself sucks, not that pleasant, especially wit those anti-americans

So, I was set on going to UC Berkeley, but Pomona College is basically handing me a FULL RIDE(50,000)!!! AND..letting me defer admission for a year as long as I pay a $500 deposit..better yet..they're willing to waive $400..wow! Anyone know much about Pomona College? Right now I just feel..expressionless..numb..like it is not real..Is that normal??
