Is it possible for you to move to another state? Ask if your school's willing to transfer your transcript, or maybe you could try to attend a community school in another state for a short time.

sorry to hear about this man, wish you the best of luck

this really sucks dude. i wish you the best.

do try to pull your transcripts though. if dream passes, you want to have proof that you completed certain classes, so that maybe you won't have to start from scratch, but possibly be able to continue on from where you left off.

again, i wish you the best. keep strong. our time will come soon.

This is so disgusting it actually makes me sick to my stomach. Pursuing an education is a virtue that should be outside the bounds of such blatant bigotry and political games. My only advice to you is move to another state, by all means. NY comes to mind. Hope all goes well. Oh, and f*ck SC.

It sucks because im currently in the Honors program at my university with a 3.73 in the engineering program, which is top 5%. - in many ways, all that for nothing today. Life's too real man, this aint no fairy tale.

just wanted to vent, any advice is welcome and best of luck to all. I hope your states are better.
How about moving to a different state?

moving to another state is not an option right now, I have no money at all to do that. How could I go to community college when Im already 2 years into my career at a major research university (id rather not name)???? I mean, anything I see in a community college will be nothing new to me, especially since im in an engineering program. There is also no private school in the area with an engineering program comparable to my schools, anything I do now will be an academic step backwards in my opinion. this is so hurtful man, I cant live with myself right now, but I DO PLAN TO MAKE A COMEBACK AND IT WILL BE INCREDIBLE.

I will write a f*****ng book one day about my experiences, I swear it.

My son goes to a top engineering school and has currently finished 2 yrs like you have.I pay his out of state tuition and he has thankfully received no such letter so far.He did get it when he started as a freshman and he replied that his attorney is dealing with his immigration status at the time.No one has asked him since and I am hoping no one would. But if your state has currently passed a legislation banning all undocumented students from attending college I think the best way out would be to get transferred to another state.Don't just give up.If you could find money to pay tuition there you could do it elsewhere too.Good luck.
P.S.You can pm me to know my son's school and see if you can afford it and get transferred there.

It's not over for you. Look into going to other schools in other state and see if you can transfer there. You're already paying out of state tuition anyway. Move somewhere else and continue college. With you GPA, I think you can probably get scholarships, etc.

unbelievable that a state would pass that kind of law, especially when other states are so hospitable to undocumented students. I go to a California university and told them about my status, they were extremely helpful and pointed me to all sorts of resources, including the AB540 that let me pay in state tuition.

it must be like living in a different continent down there.

I recommend getting an unpaid internship in the mean time so you could build your resume. since you already have 2 years in, it shouldn't be difficult to continue where you left off at a different university in another state.

Move to another state and pay out of state tuition. Work really hard, you have no choice.

Something like that would never pass in California or New York.

Or prove that you're legal even that you're not.
