Ay Juang, that pick up line is getting old already! We all know the girl is pretty. :P Hahaha.

@OP: I think the same way you do. I'm so scared of jumping the gun and leaving, then something might finally happen when I'm gone... I've been thinking about that for a while now, and it's one of the strong points that's kept me waiting.
The bad thing is, I don't think anyone can say when the DA might even be debated. We don't even have an idea.
I'm still hoping and praying something will be passed this year before November. Cuz in my honest opinion I doubt the subject will even be touched again if the elections pass and nothing happens... and then, here we are, possibly waiting for Obama's reelection or even after a new presidential year to see if MAYBE immigration gets touched again...
I'll end up crying, but I honestly don't know what I'd do if that were to happen. I really really don't want to have to leave.
My sister's getting residency this year & bringing her son to raise him here, so I guess I'll just keep on living with her, doing my Capoeira, working here & there in jobs under the table... and wait for an opportunity to somehow get legalized. I might not be studying, but I feel like if I'm at least doing my Capoeira, and if I can find a way to go to WA and get a driver's license, it won't feel so bad. Cuz after all, opening up my own Capoeira academy & teaching in it is what I wanna end up doing anyway.

So yeah... I guess my point was to say that if you at least have something you love that you can keep on doing, you have a choice & you don't have to give up.

In all honesty really all we can do is sit here looking pretty & wait to see what happens. Most of us have very little of a voice to make any difference in Congress' choices...

To everyone:

I agree with keeping busy and sorta giving yourself some purpose for the meantime..I know that's what's keeping me sane..But also setting a deadline, like deciding in two years what I really want (whether to stay or not)..

But here are two scenarios that could have changed my situation:

My parents came here in the 80's to go to college, they had my sister in Texas (she's 28 now)..And after a few years of living here they decided to go back to Venezuela because my mom's dad was dying of cancer..And since things were good at the time they decided to just stay there..Then came along me and my bro (the undocumented ones) "/

There went our shot of being born here..

And the second thing...They left I believe in 1984 or 85..Right before the amnesty in 86. Not sure if they would've qualified for that...but you get my point..

Third times a charm..and just my luck DA will pass after I leave.

Oh...And this whole waiting for mid-term elections crap..WTFudge...when is the government gonna get on something productive..besides making sure they keep their jobs. That is not cool. -.-

Juang.... She definitely is gorgeous, but she has a bf

But hey, since her and I are both Venezuelans, maybe we'll elope to Caracas and live happily ever after.

That's ok. I was just trying to make her feel better. I don't really like Hispanic girls. The one I kind of like is one that looks like a hot Brazilian volleyball player. However I still don't know her real ethnicity.

My deadline for WAITING is definitely till the end of the year. Once 2011 hits the calendar and there seems to be no progress and just more promises, then I think I'll officially give up on this place. NOW, that's not to say I'm leaving then... I plan on finishing school before I head anywhere else... After all, If we leave the US with nothing but a high school diploma, even with a US rep and English under our belts, we are still going to be stuck in the middle class, doing some crappy job in whatever country we go to. Sooo, I think a degree is essential.
