You don't know that and you better start praying that it does pass in lame duck because once the new congress takes their seat, then we will sure as hell not have the votes.

No Republicans voted in favor when it was attached in the Defense Bill, I'd be hard pressed to believe Republicans will vote in favor of it now.

In fact, I don't see why any Republican would vote in favor of it. They know they will have the power come January, and they are sure as hell don't want the Democrats to receive credit on passing any immigration-related issue.

I think we should all drop the negativety and skeptisism all at once, for just this month at least, so that we can all focus some possitive energy towards these guys on lame duck sessions. Because we can be negative all year long, but this is the last chance for a lot of people, so being a lil optimistic right now isnt gonna hurt anyone.

We had 12 republicans vote yes in 2007. The 110th congress had 49 Democrats and 49 Republicans along with 2 independents.

No one voted on Dream Act during this congress, the closest we got was trying to get a vote for cloture on the defense authorization bill which was blocked because of resistance to include a repeal of don't ask don't tell.

Stop spreading your pessimism, we want people working toward passage, not just lying down and expecting the worst.

Hoping doesn't give you anything in this world.

I have been calling and emailing senators to get DA passed. I want the DA to pass as much as anyone of you, but you have to expect the worst in this world, that much I have learned.

Trust me, from one skeptic to another, always expecting the worst is no good for you. If you lose all hope in life, what else do you have to live for? Besides you didn't lose any hope, calling the senators doesnt guaranttee you anything, you still have to hope they heed you. =P

No one is saying Dream Act will pass for sure in this senate or congress. But this is all we've got.

You're right. It may not pass. But even if it doesn't, we've got nothing to lose by trying. If anti-immigrants call senators more than we do, we've got everything to lose.

Will Dream Act pass in this congress? MAYBE.

Will Dream Act pass in new congress? NO.

Will Dream Act pass after presidential election in 2012? IT WILL BE HARDER THAN IT IS NOW. and this is a fact.

Maybe the House should pass its version first?

Even if its doesn't pass in the lame-duck then we still have 2012 to work on.

1986, 2006, 2007 were all under Rep control.

Even if Obama gets re-elected and Dems have Senate and House, Dream Act will be long forgotten and will have to be re-introduced, in which will take us to where we are right now.

If Rep gets elected as president or gets Senate or House, there is virtually no chance of Dream Act passing even in 2012-2014 or even 2016

This lameduck is our only chance. So everyone gather up.
