*Sigh* I'm not disputing what they say on their website, but so far it hasn't been proven to be true at least from people on here who have expired EADs and are still waiting for renewal. Do you just like to argue for argument sake?

Pianoswithoutfaith,

Please stop disseminating misinformation. USCIS's website does not claim that it will grant a temporary extension to DACA applicants; however, it does state criteria under which it will reject a request for an extension. See here.

"USCIS will not provide any such short-term deferred action and employment authorization when USCIS is delayed in reaching a final decision on your renewal request because, for example: 1) of factors within your control (such as failure to file the renewal request within the suggested timeframe or filing an incomplete renewal request); 2) USCIS has not been able to complete your background check; and/or 3) your renewal submission contained evidence that you may not satisfy the DACA renewal guidelines and USCIS must send you a request for additional information or explanation"

This is one of those government policies where it will "neither confirm nor deny" the possibility of a DACA extension. If USCIS allowed for such extension, it would provide instructions on how to apply (and don't get me started on how useless InfoPass is).

jaylove16,

Thanks for sharing. I think this brings to light the severe backlog USCIS has. It it not ok for them to delay DACA renewal applications that were submitted during the 4-5 month window.

I am not but here is what they're also saying

https://my.uscis.gov/helpcenter/arti...services-uscis

" If you have filed your renewal request at least 120 days before your deferred action expires and USCIS is delayed in processing your renewal request, USCIS may provide you with DACA and employment authorization for up to an additional 120 days."

What would you call this if not a 120 day extension?

They received my case on May 11, 2016. That's 141 days before expiration. Let's get them extensions going...

You will not be able to apply for a DACA extension.

I just came back from InfoPass this morning only to be told that they no longer give out interim EAD cards (this was after explaining that USCIS states a 120 day extension can be given if it is not the applicant's fault). The rep informed me that it is no longer true and that the best I could do is continue waiting.

Do not believe that lie that USCIS will grant you an extension of any kind, as it is not true at all. You can confirm this be attending an InfoPass appointment yourself. Check for appointments early between 7 to 8 AM if you want to have any chance of booking an appointment.
