theres so many pros and cons like i would love to keep it to myself but theres a chance that it may come back to bite me and idk how much of a chance it is :/

I think the reason a lot of companies will or do terminate is because if they put you on leave of absence, you are still technically an employee of the company (even though you are taking unpaid time off). It sucks , but most companies use e-verify now, so it will be difficult, if not impossible, to go on a leave of absence.

Of course I would try and ask HR if it is possible (that's what I did), but if not, then all we can do is hope for the best.

Good luck to everyone

I know ...I still think you will get approved before it expires though. I still wouldn't say anything if they do not ask. Besides a lot of the time the HR departments are not the most helpful under these circumstances and may be I'll informed and make a bigger deal out of things. Hang in there.

I asked. I have a few weeks of PTO saved up. My job is very demanding and they need me to be making decisions all the time, i doubt I sell an extended leave beyond PTO. Because I cannot give them an end date, its like TBD. 100% uncertainty.

I was terminated last time.... it usually just ends in termination. And hopefully someone liked/needs you enough to consider bringing you back.

Some companies just put a copy of your EAD in a filing cabinet and forget about it. I wouldn't say anything IMO, unless you are cool with the HR person.

Note: You and Juvi filed late right? I also expired on Sept. 4th but submitted my application on Apr 24th and i thought that was late lol
