However, let’s see if I end up actually being able to go to residency or practice.

Maybe the closest situation to what you faced was a series of dates I had with this guy early this year. He was absolutely obsessed with me and mostly a gentleman. The ultimate simp. However, I was not attracted to him and no matter what I did, there was no way for me to develop a sense of respect and attraction to him. In hindsight, I wonder if I had stayed with him, he would’ve proposed after Trump’s election and I would be filing paperwork to adjust my status right now. I’m single still and most of the guys I go for are emotionally unavailable /not into me anyway (such is the state of a gay man). I imagine that it might have been better to be unhappy in a relationship with a green card compared to unhappily single/dating scum and with no green card. C’est la vie I guess.

Also grammar doesn’t matter. I was a snotty nosed teenager/20 year old. And ChatGPT exists for all that crap.
Why would they not naturalize. Unless their origin country has one of those antiquated 1 citizenship only laws it is only a benefit to naturalize. Can't lose your status. Can't be kicked out. Don't have to renew your card every 10 years. Get a new passport etc. Never understood this process.

I know someone with the same mindset. Self-limitation because its "good enough". One day when we get our Trump-issued green cards lmao I will be dutifully counting down the days till I can apply for naturalization and keeping it all in an american flag binder.

Best of luck with the MD and hopefully you get into residency and practice. I know it can be quite challenging, but if it weren't challenging then itd be boring. I am not into the processing of regretting because the decision is done and cant be changed. It just is. But you always have tomorrow. And who knows, you might find something great, its the unknown that makes it so fun.

I was telling this to someone who wished they knew how their life would turn out with respect to finding a partner, and my answer was that itd be boring if you had all the answers spelled out for you in advance. Always knowing every joke, only being a bit actor in the play of your life. BORING. Bring me more unknown, uncertainty, and more gamba.

In fact, I am thankful for the concept of unknown. It keeps everything new and exciting.

I'm not even sure if y'all are trolling about UWD and other immigrant advocacy groups right now.
