I understand that but the nearest office is like an hour drive. I have payments to make first.
Also, I am in college that have mandatory attendances. The only day I have leeway is once a week. Social security offices like to close by 3pm (laaame). I want to get my SSN right away and not waste my one day off going to USCIS. Social first, then I will schedule a time for my card.

I'm really happy with my card. I don't feel like it's an imminent danger to not fix it right away.

UPDATE:

I took a look at my receipts that came with the card and my I-765 expires in 2013 but my I-821D expires in 2014. I think that's where they must've gotten the date on my card. So I'm not sure if going to an appointment would be enough to help me since Vermont thinks I'm valid til 2013...

That's actually correct. From 9/14/12 to 9/13/2014 is two years. If they made the dates match you would be receiving an extra day.

I just finished calling uscis customer service and boy the guy was rude!

Basically he told me to go to do the infopass with the office (in the most annoyed tone).

get it solved asap, something going wrong with your application is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

They are condescending rats. Just go what you have to do, good luck.

Well the USCIS office is only available twice a week for services and I'm busy next week so I'll have to wait a while. Info pass will only let me schedule one week ahead.

I'm not going to freak out too much. This is a happy time for me I should enjoy it.

Like I said, one hour drive. Mandatory classes (exams on both dates that they're allowing me to schedule). And no car so I rely on others

It will be easier with my ssn and dl. it's pointless freaking out about something that i can change within 360ish days.

I have to pay off my lawyer, get my SSN, get my drivers license, buy a car. This card has opened so many doors right now that I don't want to waste time trying to fix the date since I have a full year to do it.

I will update you when I get my card fixed.
I suggest you make this your first priority. What if they didn't make a mistake and they're only giving you a year? Maybe you filled something out wrong. I say the longer you wait the worst the situation could get. I hope it's their mistake and it was meant for 2 years but I'm telling you. If this was me I'd get on it the second I found out.

Pluuuus I'm sure if employers see ur only allowed to work for a year and someone else goes for the same position but is allowed to work for 2 years, they'll probably hire the other person and give you some bs excuse about not needing you at this time.

Also. What if there is some kind of time limit for correcting mistakes before they can no longer be corrected.

I can go on and on with what if's. We've waited so long for this oportunity. Why would you risk fudging it up at the last minute.

I'm sorry, I really believe your priorities are wrong in this case. Unfortunately, I don't personally know you and we're not related so I don't know what else to say to make you change your mind. I don't know what you've sacrificed so far during this process, time wise school wise work wise or otherwise. Finish this all the way once and for all. If anything, finish it for piece of mind.
