... umm... guess I better do this, until this site I did not know it was required and mandatory to sign up with the sss. Anyone been able to apply online? kinda been living a double life with this status thing and i feel pretty uncomfortable whenever I have to disclose my status to someone, even if it is safe.

see i would think that too especially since itin numbers all supposedly begin with 9, so if you put that in they should know is an ITIN. but there is not a mention of itin anywhere. I was thinking of maybe just putting in zero's and seeing how it goes, but wanted to hear from other people that have done it already, specially if they did it online.

ok...if you have any question you all should check their website or search in this thread... just read from the beginning.

but do not put your ITIN or zeros you should leave it blank....and there is no penalties if you do it between 18-26 years of age... but the sooner the better, because if you dont it may affect you, when you try to adjust your status and is ONLY for men...so if you are not a female you have to do it...

but that is the thing, you cannot submit it blank online, it will not allow you.

guess I will have to go to the post office, but how does it work? do they just give you a form, fill it out then hand it to them, or do they actually ask you the information, the questions on the online form seems basic enough that a postal employee would be able to ask and input the info on their computer to make it simple.

edit*: nevermind, I found it on their site, you get it from the post office and mail it to them. The way that they implement "man" into their registration directions did sort of make it seem like an odd read. "a man can fill out the card at home and mail it". lol

yeah just go to the post office and tell them you need a Selective Service form and they will give you one. then you just fill it out, there or at home and mail it. is not to complicated. just put as much as you know and leave blank your SS# if you dont have one.

Ps. it does help when you do your research..Right?....jk lol

pretty much had the same scenario never heard of this and would not have heard it if I had not been here, but the Selective Service website clearly states that it is a crime for people in our situation not to apply, and if they claim it is a crime then not being enrolled could affect the good moral of character requirement from the DA, however, good moral of character has not been defined well yet so there is alot of speculation as to what one may or may not be able to do.
