I decided to hold off, might as well just invest the money somewhere where it's going to grow. My BMW bug died... I hope it lasts for more than a week. I am now thinking of the M4

Once the warranty on those BMWs run out, their value drops like flies.

If their values drop like flies, then wouldn't that mean the value of the BMW would go down to $0. Flies fall to the ground and stay there to die. They don't drop down anymore. So if you are saying BMW price drops like flies then it means the price goes directly to $0.

No. Research what that saying means. That's your homework for today. I want a paragraph describing your findings. You have 20 minutes.

You have a point, if I search for a CPO (possibly 1-2 years older) the depreciation takes almost 40%-50% of the value for the first to second year. But the cars are beautiful though

To fall down in great numbers : All over the hot theater people were dropping like flies
So I guess my question to you is what is "great numbers"?

Assuming the warranty for a BMW is 3 years, let us look at the data of a 2014 BMW M2 (They were known as BMW 2 Series first released in 2014) with a MSRP of $44,025. According to Edmunds a used 2014 BMW 2 Series goes for $36k. That is about 8K drop in 3 years when the warranty is over.

Is $8,000 a great number for you? Is it really necessary to say the price drops like flies when the warranty expires? The drop is bout 18% in 3 years. I do not think that is a great number of a drop nor do I think the price dropped like flies.

You are wrong.

You get an F for your homework kid.

A BMW's Warranty is 4 years, 50k miles.

You can't use an M2 as an example because M2s didn't exist in 2013, so let's take a look at an M3.
2017 M3 has an MRSP of $64,000. Used 2013 M3s are listed for $37,000 to $40,000, not selling, listed, but we will use that price for this example. That is a loss of $24,000 to $27,000, which equals to a depreciation of 35.7% to 42%
Like I said before, their value drops like flies.
