So you are saying with this non immigrant visa there will always be a $500 AP to apply for to travel internationally??. I just hope we get to have travel privileges with this non immigrant visa with no restrictions.

This seems like a fair deal.
in 2013 CIR dems proposed the same thing, removing adult children and siblings from family based. now its a 3rd rail for them. those DemocRats use immigration as vote bank issue. lets start calling our lawmakers to support once draft is finalized in to a Bill.

if its a regular non immigrant visa like H1/L1/F1 etc. AP is not needed for reentry. needs to see the details if they'll clear EWI after admitted at a port of entry.

Yes, in that case there is no need for AP.

But if you are in the process of adjusting your status to immigrant status (green card), you need to show your intent of staying in the U.S. by actually staying in the U.S. If you leave during this adjustment of status of period, USCIS has no way of knowing if you will ever come back and has the right to assume you abandoned your immigrant intent.

Advance Parole tells USCIS that you are going to return to the U.S.

Now with this new "nonimmigrant" visa, it's a grey area since we are in the *long* process of adjusting our status.

nope, that happens when you file AOS I485. you can then file for I765 (for EAD) and I-131 (for AP) with I485. so in initial 5 years on visa you dont need an AP. after 5 years if you are selected to apply for green card then only you'll need AP.

The saddest part of American history when congress and house leadership says that whatever the president wants must be in the bill -__-
