@karentumlin
I think if they granted any of the DACA cases Tuesday, they could still fit them in this term, if they wanted to. They may have to tighten the briefing deadlines a bit, but it is doable. The last scheduled argument at SCOTUS this term is April 24. Only the Justices know!

This is actually good news with respect to current shutdown. If SC took the case, Trump would decide to wait for a result, shutdown would go til June without any serious DACA relief in exchange for wall. If SC really doesn't take it this term, 10-12 months is too long for a shutdown and Trump might accept a deal that includes path to citizenship to break the shutdown impasse.

people here dont get this concept. trump is boxed in at this point cuz he was waiting for scotus to rule against daca. now hes gotta make a deal and he cant keep the govt shutdown in 2020 going into an election year.

they cant touch daca this yr or till 2020 after the elections now. crazy.. we gotta wait til 2021-2022 now.

So let's say Trump decides to take the proper path to rescind DACA, how much time do we get a heads up to send in a last renewal? I forgot how last time played out.
