Guys, check my timeline. I just sent my AOS packet last month and today I received an update on my I-485 that I've been scheduled an interview. I don't even have my EAD yet. Could this be a mistake? It seems too good to be true since it's taking about a year right now to adjust status

That was fast! Congratulations, I hope it is your interview. My FO is Chicago and my case was ready to be scheduled for an interview within 2 weeks of my Priority Date but no scheduled appointment yet. My EAD was approved last week but you might not even get yours since you will probably get your green card first. I have read on other forums about people who had their interview within 2-3 months from their Priority Date so I think it’s very possible that yours isn’t a mistake.

Thank you. I'm going to wait until I have the letter in my hands before I get excited. I can't believe it happened this fast. I was expecting to get my EAD within around 5 months and wasn't expecting the GC for at least a year.

That is normal. It happened to my application as well, they scheduled me an interview 2 weeks after my biometrics. But the actual date of schedule you have to wait. It could take a year now or even longer depends how backlog your field office.

So when you got your interview letter, how far in advance was the date for the interview?

about a month before your interview. Time flies and before you know it you already have your green card

So even though my case status says that an interview has been scheduled, it could mean that I won't get the letter until a month before my interview date, which is unknown?

You should get a letter. I think they were referring to case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, not for interview has been scheduled.

That's what I'm thinking. Hopefully I'll have the letter within a couple weeks!
