Hello my name is Aida and Like you have all said we have similar stories with little tweaks here and there. I am the oldest of 5 children and my youngest brother was born in Mexico because of an emergency. My mom was pregnant (we lived in California) she was going to the dr and everything in california. In July 1991 we went to mexico because my parents were going to celebrate my Quinseañera over there. My mom was pregnant and her dr. said she would be fine to travel. Well in August my mom was taken to the hospital because of bleeding and had to have an emergency C- section. My little brother was born almost 2 months early. He was very sick his lungs were not developed and stayed in the hospital for about a month so my dad went back to california to work because my little brothers Dr. did not want us to travel until he was much better. Two weeks later we had to take my brother to the hospital because of his lungs he was there for about 2 weeks. After the Dr. said it was ok for him to travel we came to El Paso. My little brother got his passport but the agents at the immigration line did not stamp it and we did not notice. Ever since about November of 1991 he has lived in the U.S.A. and my parents tried to get him his residence but they denied it because they said that my parents did not have enough proof. Being that they had all of my mom paperwork from when she went to the dr in California and the documents from when she had the emergency c-section. Now he just graduated from High School and has always been a good student and has played in the baseball team for his high school. He wants to go to college and play baseball for his school, but he has no papers!!!He wants to work, drive or go out of town with friends but is anable to. So I was wondering about the The Dream Act. He meets all the expectations! Is there anyone that can tell me how I can join a group to help the DREAM ACT????? Thanks and lets just all stick together and work towards our goals. SI SE PUEDE!!!!!
So basically, there is no documentation that he is even in this country and would appear as if he immigrated into this country illegally? What great idiots that did not stamp the passport when they were supposed to. But yeah, I think he would be a role candidate for the DREAM Act, considering he only lived in Mexico for what about a month or so as far as I understand.
Well, let me just say welcome to the DAP, and hope you find answers to your questions here.
As to how you can join a group to help the DREAM Act, well this is a start, right now the best anyone can do is perhaps try to reach out to people to make them understand what the DREAM Act is really about. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that have flawed ideas about what the DREAM Act seeks to accomplish and don't know how the immigration system works in this country. A lot of us also contact senators on a regular basis.
