hey so I'm not sure if this has been asked already. if it has sorry. So I was wondering if I should go update my ssn at school. I talked to a guy at my school in charge of international students that knows about daca and he told me to not say anything since they might change my tuition. Basically I've been going to school for 3 years and I've been getting out of state tuition waivers so I pay in-state tuition, but he said they might take it away if they start figuring out my situation exactly. would I have issues if I didn't update my ssn. Also, I was wondering if I should change my last name since immigration added my mom's last name but the guy also said I shouldn't talk to admissions about this at all and just wait till I graduate to update it for my diploma. I was just wondering if this would be an issue of "multiple identities" later if my school records have one last name and my dl and immigration forms have two last names? also when I'm filling out forms at school and such would it be acceptable to just put one last name or am I obligated to put both last names, or does it depend on the situation? help I'm so lost on this issue! thanks
Except for government forms, I will continue using only my First and Last names.
Except for my passport and consular id card, EVERY piece of documentation that I sent to UCIS only had my first and last names. That includes bank statements and my college diploma.
