This site needs HTTPS!

In the year 2018 there is no excuse to not have encryption and HTTPS on a site.

Encryption wont make any difference on a forum this old and brittle.

They are orthogonal in what encryption can achieve. The implementation can, indeed, sometimes will fail with an old forum like this without significant investment, even the TLS connection terminates at the edge (webserver/proxy) then forward to vBulletin. Then the next is to take care of all non-https active and passive contents on the websites (e.g. css, js).

But we should try anyway, with just enabling HTTPS on visit means we can be certain about traffic between user and the server is secured and encrypted...

I thought we went over this last Fall... anyway, I don't think admin would invest in this.

I say, Upgrade to Xenforo!!! it would be the most amazing thing that ever happened to this site

By the way, I own licenses of Xenforo (the most advanced forum software out there). If the admin's reach out to me, I am willing to loan a license free of charge

I am still confused how this site is still running. the original admin is all papered up I wonder who still runs this

Another vote to turn this site into https. On the site I manage, all it took was to call the host and ask them to do it. That one is wordpress site though so I'm not sure what they're running here.
