Good evening guys, I’m helping my partner’s nephew fill out his first time DACA packet. However he doesn’t have a official ID. He only has school ID. So his mom took him to the Mexican consulate and they refused to give him one because he didn’t have his father there. However his father isn’t here he is in Mexico and not part of his life. They then referred them to anther facility where based on the circumstances there is an 80% chance they will give them the consular ID for the boy. This is so strange to me because he meets all requirements for the consular ID but to require both parents is insane. Now I am just thinking of filing the DACA and he can use his original birth certificate and a school ID for biometrics or waiting to see if they next facility grants him an ID or well just sending the daca and waiting for an RFE. I think the application support center will accept the school ID and birth certificate but having the consular ID will benefit him more on the long run just in case the application center tries to turn him down. Any ideas 💡
